Wednesday
What a gorgeous day! Laura headed to have her blood drawn for her 1 hour gestational diabetes screen. It's like drinking the sweetest (and I don't mean in a good way) fruit punch you could imagine, and then waiting an hour while it works its way through your system. Couldn't they just come up with something else, like eating birthday cake? :)

Today in St. Louis. . . :)
Today Chris and Laura headed out to St. John's to meet with Dr. Goel, a pediatric cardiologist, for a second fetal echocardiogram. The result was basically the same as before, which was a diagnosis of an A-V canal defect (the combination of an atrial septal defect, a ventricular septal defect, and some valve issues.) The best description of this, if anyone's interested, is at http://www.stlouischildrens.org/tabid/88/itemid/808/Atrioventricular-Canal-AV-Canal-or-AVC.aspx
The good news is that the pregnancy can continue normally, with no other issues, and Laura can have a "normal" labor and delivery, not a scheduled C-section as previously thought. We are so very lucky to live in a city with such fantastic medical care.
Although this is a very emotionally trying time for everyone, we are also very thankful to have such great family and friends for support. They say that God never gives you anything that you can't handle, but there for a while we were starting to wonder if God had more faith in us than we had in ourselves!
